Dawn Olivieri

Resilient yet tempered, honest and sincere, stunningly beautiful, and an undeniable raw talent are ways that actress on the rise Dawn Olivieri could be described. Her name has become synonymous in the entertainment business with strong, female characters, each one finely crafted by Olivieri, which has trademarked her edgy and mysterious performances.Over the past five years Olivieri has appeared in top television projects most notably CBS's "How I Met Your Mother" and "Cold Case," HBO's "Entourage," NBC's "Las Vegas" and "Knight Rider," SYFY's "Stargate: Atlantis," TNT's "Trust Me," and TBS's "My Boys." In 2009, Olivieri landed the role of "Lydia" on season four of the award-winning, NBC series "Heroes," which gave her national and international recognition. Now, in 2010 Olivieri can be seen as "Janice Herveaux" on the hit HBO series "True Blood" airing summer 2010.

Born in St. Petersburg, Florida and raised in Seminole, Florida, Olivieri grew up with a fascination for characters and a passion for entertaining audiences. She was always entertaining people in one way or another, whether it was acting for her parents, putting on dance shows with the kids next door, acting in the school plays, or playing the bassoon with the school band. Without a doubt, she was addicted to performing. Olivieri shares, "when I was a little girl, my mom kept a trunk of dress up clothes that satisfied hours and hours of princess obsessions! My imagination was wild as a child." Olivieri attended Seminole High School, and then went on to attend the University of South Florida with an academic scholarship, and majored in chemistry. Although originally she thought she would attend school to be a veterinarian, she quickly realized she had to follow her dreams, and pursue her passion for human chemistry, in television and film.

Olivieri started her career in the entertainment business modeling, however her progression to television and film was natural and expeditious. Of how modeling influenced her acting, Olivieri says, "There are some great movement lessons to be learned as a model. You learn about how your body moves, what is flattering, what is not. Most importantly, what you are thinking is conveyed through your eyes and your face, and it is the same on screen." Ready to make her impact on the entertainment business, Olivieri decided to pack up her car and make the trek from Florida to Los Angeles. "There was never a plan B for me. I put everything into what I am striving for, acting was plan A. It had no choice but to work out," she notes.

In 2009, Olivieri landed her most notable and recognizable role to date, as "Lydia" the tattoo woman, on the fourth season of NBC's "Heroes." The series put her on the map of stars on the rise, as appeared on 16 episodes of the show. In addition to "Heroes," Olivieri was also recently seen in the SYFY original movie HYDRA, and is also the voice of "Pepper Potts" in the new "Avengers" animated series. In 2010, Olivieri's film projects include the Hallmark film XTRA CREDIT that is in post-production, the comedy DROP DEAD GOREGEOUS, and the thriller film DOZERS. Summer 2010 will be exciting for Olivieri as well, as she becomes the sexy werewolf "Janice Herveaux" on the hit HBO series "True Blood." In the coming years, Olivieri hopes to continue to perfect her craft, and travel more of the world. She says, "I just live life, that is all I can hope for.

She is essential to him in finding what he needs by using her empathic powers, however as the season progresses she begins to question his true intentions.

DAWN ON HER CHARACTER: "I love the mystery that surrounds her, her sensual nature, her power of touch, her style. I personally have a wicked sense of humor, and would have loved for her to possess that element of character as well, but alas, this would have created a more cynical, darker woman."
